Brick & Steel Border Counties Rally 6 May 2023
The
Border Counties formally launches its return in 2023, this year on
Saturday 6th May. We are sharing the date with the Coronation of King
Charles III, but I am sure he won't mind!!
Guidance from MotorsportUK is that we can run as normal.
Once
again, The Border Counties Rally is jointly promoted by Hawick and
Border Car Club and Berwick and District Motor Club. We also have the
welcomed support of long-term sponsor, Glasgow based building firm
Brick and Steel Construction.
The
picturesque market town of Jedburgh will play host to the traditional
rally start ceremony before competitors head into the forests and HQ
returns to Jedburgh Town Hall.
Competitors
will be contesting a number of championships this year, round 3 of the
MRF Tyres BTRDA Rally Series, round 3 of the returning SG Petch ANECCC
Rally Championship and round 3 of the HRCR Motoscope Northern Historic
Championship.
Fans
will be in for a treat, with ample opportunity to watch the action in
the forests as well as the chance to get up close to the cars at the
Jedburgh start and the event service area at the mid-point of the rally
in the nearby St Boswells. A traditional Scottish welcome will greet
crews as they reach the finish ceremony which will also take place
under the gaze of Jedburgh Abbey where the winners will celebrate
victory with the traditional champagne spray.
